Born and raised in Boise, Idaho Iversen continued her education studying philosophy at the University of California, Davis , where she also started her radio career at KDVS and played in jazz bands as a drummer.
Through her mother she has Vietnamese roots. Iversen became one of very few female hosts in syndication. The show was interactive and invited listeners to phone in with questions and comments about the various topics.
