How is a belt measured

Our custom Leather Belts are available in a variety of widths, colors and styles. We size all of our custom leather belts to the specifications you provide to us. It is extremely important that you measure correctly to insure the proper fit for your new belt.

All of our belts come with a buckle. You can select your own buckle type and color from the options of each belt type and size. You will indicate your buckle type during your checkout process. We cannot emphasize enough the importance of measuring your new belt correctly. Sizing your belt is critical and is your responsibility. Remember each belt is handcrafted from the information you give us.

To get the correct measurement, the easiest way is to use a soft measuring tape i. One common mistake a lot of guys make is assuming that belt sizes work the same as pants sizes, and that their belt size is the same as their waist size. Unlike your belt, your pants hue quite closely to your natural waistline, so your pants size and your waist size are usually about the same. That means that your belt size has the same relationship to your trouser size as it does to your waist size:.

The correct size belt should be about an inch or two larger than your pant size. As mentioned, belts almost always come in even numbers, but pant waist size can be measured in odd numbers. In my opinion a little extra leather looks a little extra rugged, which is never a bad thing for a casual look. We will provide 2 additional holes larger and 2 smaller than this length. You can provide us with your pant size and we will size your belt accordingly.

For example, if your size is W38xL40, 38" is your pant width. Using this as the base for your belt length, we will make your belt for that length, providing 2 additional holes larger and smaller than that size. There is an additional charge for belts longer than 42". We discourage any other way of sizing your belt. Please use one of the above methods if you wish to receive a belt that is the correct size.
